Project description

The highly invasive nature of glioblastoma results in poor prognosis and patient survival. Glioblastoma cells utilise an array of changes in gene expression, ion channel functions and even neuron-like signalling to enhance cell survival and motility. This project will characterise a suite of candidates that have shown promise in limiting cancer cell motility. Focus will be on their mode of action and involve their effects on gene expression or ion channel function. The outcomes of this project can be used in the future as a platform for translation studies.
