Project description
There is an increasing interest in developing, adapting and applying advanced chemical analysis techniques to determine the source of chemicals of national security interest. Previous honours and PhD projects have analysed, starting materials, by-products and a range of chemicals. A recently formed international working group (Chemical Forensics International Technical Working Group - CFITWG) have five project areas of interest One of which is led by Assoc Prof Walker. This project, which is aligned with the CFITWG project, is a collaboration with Defence Science and Technology Group, Melbourne, will expand the use of a range of analytical techniques to chemicals of forensic and national security interest.
