Project description
The behaviour of piles under static loading has received considerable attention through laboratory and in situ tests and numerical simulations. However, limited study has been carried out on investigating effect of vertical loading on the lateral behaviour of piles in sand. This project will focus on studying the response of piles under vertical compressive and lateral loadings through numerical analysing using finite element method.
Assumed knowledge
Soil mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, Pile foundations.
