Project description
· Gold mining causes significant arsenic contamination of the environment. · Chronic environmental arsenic exposure may result in skin lesions and increases the risk of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. · We will develop a new soil remediation strategy that will reduce arsenic (and other potentially toxic element) exposure in legacy gold mining impacted regions such as Victorian goldfields. · We will also explore novel methods of resource recovery (e.g., rare earth elements) during soil remediation to improve industrial adoption of this technique.
Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
