Project description

This project aims to design, manufacture and test a novel fixation apparatus that:
  • overcomes the above mentioned limitations
  • is compatible with Flinders Hexapod robot, and
  • is suitable for in-vitro testing of human knee specimen.

Supervisors research focus

My research combines in-vitro experiments, medical/high-resolution imaging with multiscale computational (micro- and macro- finite element (FE)) modelling to: (i) comprehensively evaluate novel and improve existing prostheses designs, and (ii) study biomechanical injuries such as bone fractures and pressure sores. These injuries affect a diverse range of patients including the elderly population, patients with OA, diabetics as well as wheelchair users and bed-ridden patients. Though my research I aspire to improve injury prevention, care and treatment.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
