Project description

Bacteriophages are virus who have evolved to kill bacteria. They could be solution to fight antibiotic resistance. In this project we’ll explore avenues to immobilise bacteriophages to surfaces using nanoengineering tricks, such as creating pores just big enough for their heads to fit in. This research is conducted in collaboration with microbiologists, and provides opportunity to learn surface modification techniques (plasma deposition and electroetching), microbiology, surface analysis (SEM, XPS), fluorescence microscopy.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
