Project description
A guided/investigative project in graphs and combinatorics which will be comprised of two main components: 1) Studying past research techniques and known results 2) Developing and applying new approaches to currently open questions. Possible topics of study include: Crossing numbers, Domination numbers and the many variations of these. Students will gain research experience in a field which lies in the the intersection of mathematics and computer science. Assumed knowledge
Knowledge in discrete mathematics will be helpful, but not essential. Some basic computer programming knowledge is preferable
Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
