Project description

While the axial-flux permanent-magnet machines (PM machines) are subject of many research studies, the PM-free axial-flux machines have received limited research attention. This paper aims to discuss the performance of the PM-free axial-flux machines as compared to those of PM-free radial-flux machines. This paper aims to discuss the performance of the 2.2kW PM-free axial-flux machines, including induction machine (IM), synchronous reluctance machine (Syn RM), and switched reluctance machine (SRM) against those of similar rating PM-free radial-flux machines. The project outcome will be guidelines/recommendations for selection of types of electric machine and their suitability based on the needs of the industry or application.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
