Project description

Small wind turbines can be used in the houses as a sustainable energy resource. Moreover, their additional generated energy can be stored in available battery packages. In this study, student need to design a suitable power converter which converts the generated energy of the wind turbines for charging the battery packs. The charging voltage varies based on the battery pack state of charge. Thus, the converter must be able to supply the batteries with small current ripples in a range of input/output voltages. The designed and simulation of the battery are carried out based on the analytical analysis and Matlab/Simulink. Finally, a small wind turbine is provided for prototyping of the designed converter.
