Project description

Permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) are used extensively due to various advantages, such as high torque density, high power density, and wide operating speed. IPMSMs are getting more attention for better permanent magnet utilization and wider constant power speed range relative to the surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous machines. This project aims to carry out a novel interior permanent magnet motor for electrical vehicle applications. In this study, a novel IPMSM will be designed by Finite Element method (FEM) and compared with the surface mounted PMSMs.
