Project description

With the great demand on developing environmentally benign oxidation chemistry for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, using artificial enzyme represents one of the most attractive alternatives. For example, in combination of copper salt, nitroxide radicals have been used to mimic galactose oxidase to convert alcohol to aldehyde uses molecular oxygen as primary oxidant. However, this catalyst complex is difficult to isolate and reuse. This project aims to develop polymer-based nanoparticles as recyclable artificial enzyme for aerobic oxidation catalysis.
