Project description
Biosecurity Tasmania (Dep Nat Res Env) has collected approximately 12 months of GPS collar data (regularly recorded locations) from 12 feral pigs (Sus scrofa) tracked on Flinders Island in Bass Strait. Biosecurity Tasmania is keen for a student to calculate habitat use, home range size (and its seasonal variation), activity, and movement in response to hunting pressure. The project has a management focus in that the results will be used to assist in the eradication of feral pigs from Flinders Island. Some funding potentially available from Biosecurity Tasmania.
