Project description

The project would require the student to look at ways to implement emotion-aware interfaces.  This may look at a number of areas:
  • Emotion Recognition Algorithms utilising machine learning models to recognise emotions from user input (e.g. facial expressions, voice tone, or physiological signals),
  • Dynamic UI Adaption where interfaces are adjusted based on detected emotions, (e.g., increase difficulty in games during intense moments or decrease it when the player is frustrated, or modify lighting, colour schemes, particle effects, or structure to evoke specific emotions),
  • Emotion Driven Storytelling to explore game narratives and how they can adapt based on player emotions (e.g., branching storylines or character interactions could change dynamically based on the emotion detected in player interaction).
