Project description

If you are interested in the design, construction, programming, control and/or coordination of robots in a fun, cooperative and competitive environment this is the project for you. Flinders University is planning on entering a team, or teams, in the international robotics competition VEX U (https://roboticseducation.org/teams/vex-u/). The VEX U college and university competition has more than 300 teams competing annually and is an excellent opportunity to strive to be a state, national or even international robotics champion. The ideal team would be highly multi-disciplinary so students from all disciplines of Engineering, as well IT and Maths, are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. Teams can be any size but 3 or 4 would be ideal. You can apply for this project with others or on your own and teammates will be found for you. If you want to have firsthand experience with robotic hardware, and prove how good you are, this is the project you want to undertake. The project rules change every year, and will not be announced until April, so while the exact goals of the competition are not yet known what is known is the size of the robot arena (3.7 x 3.7 m) and that each team will have to field two robots to accomplish the tasks required of the competition.

You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
