Project description
This project will investigate novel, stimuli responsive adhesives. The goal is to use polymers invented in our lab as adhesives or protective coatings for electronics, optics, or organic solar cells. Then, when recycling is required, a stimulus will be applied to "de-bond" the adhesive and convert it back into monomer. The stimuli under investigation will include heat, light, or mechanical energy. The broader impact of the project is to facilitate disassembly and recycling of electronic and energy generation or storage devices.
