Project description

In this project, a sustainable concrete composite reinforced with different nanomaterials is produced with complete and simultaneous replacement of cement (binder) with fly ash, natural sand with glass sand, and natural coarse aggregate with recycled concrete aggregate. This nanocomposite will be used as an alternative to conventional concrete. As well as durability and mechanical tests, nano/ and micro/structural tests will also be performed on the samples in the Nanoscale Institute.

Supervisors research focus

I have extensive experience in research on the development of sustainable construction/building materials and technologies. I worked in ARC-Training Centre for Advanced Manufacturing of Prefabricated Housing (ARC-CAMPH) at the University of Melbourne and have been project manager and research leader of three research projects in $2.7M Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) round 8.
