Koala microbiomes

Project description

Koalas are an iconic Australian species, but are under threat from habitat destruction, bush fires and disease. Using the microbiomes, we may be able to identify individual Koalas that are more or less susceptible to relocation. Identifying the most adaptable Koalas would help in successfully Koala relocation. The student will compare the faecal microbiome with other health metrics of the Koalas.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
