Project description
Transgender athletes receive significant scrutiny on their right to participate in elite sports due to traditional men’s and women’s divisions in competitions. Minimal research exists that has biomechanically assessed specific-to-sport gender related differences and outlined appropriate measures to determine which division athletes should compete within. Project details: 1. Initial scoping review to determine human performance measures reported in literature 2. Collecting data from cis-gender athletes including electromyography (EMG), biomechanics, and metabolic data. 3. Investigating differences in cis-gender athletes This research will be supervised with Dr. Salindi P. Herath and further questions about this research can be directed to them (salindi.herath@flinders.edu.au).
