Project description
There are shifts in metabolomes and microbiomes of crops in response to abiotic stress such as drought & heat. Understanding the mechanisms that underpin these changes at the cellular and molecular level would enable scientists to work towards improving stress tolerance and resilience. This project aims to explore changes that occur in cereal metabolome and microbiome in response to stress when treated with novel amendments. The student will use techniques such as GC-MS, plant physiology, sequencing, biochemistry and microbiology to deliver project outcomes.
Assumed knowledge
Interest in plants, ecosystems, microbiology and biochemistry desirable
Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
