Project description

Desert dunes are being variously impacted by climate change, increasing aridity, and human impacts. We still only have a limited understanding of desert dune evolution and dynamics, impacts of climate change and fires. Potential projects include dating of dune evolution, determining rates of dune movement and relationships to winds and climate, impacts of fires on dune mobility, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling of dune dynamics, historical analyses of dunefield and vegetation changes following colonisation and land clearing. I conduct research in China, Australia, & W. Sahara.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
