Project description

This research theme offers various projects that explore the transformative power of machine learning, computer vision, and artificial intelligence within the primary industries. Projects under this theme vary on annual availability and range from developing deep learning models for real-time pest and disease detection through to creating autonomous algorithms for precision irrigation and crop yield forecasting. Students will have the opportunity to work with diverse datasets including drone imagery, IoT sensor networks, and livestock monitoring data to build intelligent systems that optimise resource efficiency and enhance food security. This stream is designed for students keen to explore state-of-the-art artificial intelligence methodologies to solve tangible, high-impact problems in sustainability and smart farming.

Assumed knowledge

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning

Supervisors research focus

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
