Project description

The nature of wind flow over various dune types is still poorly understood. There are multiple projects available on field and computer modelling of flow and sand transport over various dune types, in vegetation and over beaches.

Supervisors research focus

I am a coastal geomorphologist/geoscientist with a keen interest in beach and dune dynamics, geomorphology, ecology, evolution, GIS, and management. I’m interested in projects that involve: field and computer modelling studies of wind flow and sand transport over dunes, historical evolution of dunefields and relationships to climate change, surfzone-beach-dune interactions, beach erosion and sea level rise, coastal plant ecology, coastal barrier evolution in the past 10,000 years, impacts of fires on dunes, and more.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
