Project description

This project aims to investigate the implementation of connected vehicles (CVs) in transportation networks and their potential safety, efficiency and environmental benefits. The study will include different vehicle communication technologies, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-cloud (V2C). Main obstacles facing the introduction of new concept of CV together with the possible solutions will be introduced. The capability of the current traffic network performance evaluation tool, such as transport modelling software packages will also be assessed.
