Project description
This project will investigate the effects of bus priority signal provision on signalised intersection performance in Adelaide. The intersection performance will be assessed using the SIDRA intersection optimising software and the Aimsun microsimulation package. The main input data needed for traffic modelling will be acquired from SCATS signal operation system. The key performance indicators, such as vehicle delays, level of service, number of stops, emissions, fuel consumption, lane utilisation, etc. will be estimated. In addition, the effects of indented bus stop provision and its location will be evaluated.
