Project description
Recently, scientists discovered a previously unknown large sardine (Sardinops sagax) resource in Bass Strait of south-eastern Australia (Ward et al., 2023). This project will test the research hypothesis that this sardine resource is directly associated with the occurrence of coastal upwelling along the coastline of Southern Gippsland region of Victoria. This project will make use of various satellite and weather data and, optionally, an ocean circulation model. Reference: Tim M. Ward, Barrett W. Wolfe, Gretchen L. Grammer, Alex R.
