Project description

· Per and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are critical environmental pollutants because of their persistence, bioaccumulation potential, mobility and toxicity. ·  A byproduct of wastewater treatment, biosolid application in agricultural soil is a significant PFAS source in Australia. · There are over 14 thousand PFAS chemicals and toxicity of the majority of them are still unknown, particularly the toxicity of mixed PFAS · We will quantity PFAS in wastewater and its uptake in crops using treatment strategies that are aimed at re-claiming water for agricultural use. · We will investigate health impacts of PFAS mixture from Australian biosolids and wastewater in earthworms using a multi-omics approach.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
