Latent DNA Detection

Project description

Trace DNA evidence is central to so many forensic science investigations. Every contact can leave a trace, in this case cells from fingers and hands, and work by Flinders University has developed a means to see these cells. Projects include the examination of trace DNA on firearms, improvised explosive devices, and paraphernalia relating to clandestine synthesis of controlled substances.

Knowledge on DNA profiling and body fluid analyses can be gained from FACH1701, BIOL3793 and BIOL3792.
