Project description
Molecules in many materials can have a range of different packing arrangements known as crystal polymorphs. Low wavenumber Raman spectroscopy can detect low energy vibrations associated with the crystal packing making it a sensitive technique to detecting different packing arrangements. In this project changes in the low wavenumber Raman spectra will evaluated as a response to pressure and supported by solid state DFT calculations to understand the changes to the vibrational modes detected.
Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
