Project description
3D printing is a well known, however, the properties of objects produced by this technique cannot match those from conventional processes such as injection moulding. the technique will not be suitable for broader application in manufacturing until new materials that can overcome the inherent limitation of adhesion between the layers. This project will explore the application of new polymers for 3D printing applications and examine new approaches to obtain good mechanical and other properties. Application specific properties will be aligned to students particular interests.
