Project description

There are numerous options to study the impacts of sea level rise on the coast. Potential projects include the temporal dynamics and economic impacts of flooding of low lying land in Adelaide (e.g. West Lakes), surfzone-beach-dune erosion rates, historical analyses of beach-dune changes in locations around South Australia, and impacts of sea water intrusion.

Co-supervisors

In conjunction with Prof Adrian Werner.

Supervisors research focus

I am a coastal geomorphologist/geoscientist with a keen interest in beach and dune dynamics, geomorphology, ecology, evolution, GIS, and management. I’m interested in projects that involve: field and computer modelling studies of wind flow and sand transport over dunes, historical evolution of dunefields and relationships to climate change, surfzone-beach-dune interactions, beach erosion and sea level rise, coastal plant ecology, coastal barrier evolution in the past 10,000 years, impacts of fires on dunes, and more.

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
