Project description

I have several potential projects depending on students interests. These can involve more or less fieldwork and more or less genetics and genomics. All the projects involve work on lizards either from a long term study on sleepy lizards and their ticks, or on the establishment of a new population of the endangered pygmy bluetongue lizard. These projects are funded by Australian Research Council grants including a discovery project on sleepy lizards involving SA Museum staff and researchers from the US and NZ examining the potential for parasites being involved in the early stages of speciation in host lizards. The pygmy bluetongue project involves several industry partners.  Other projects involve the evolution of sociality which is a focus of my lab, the Lab of Evolutionary Genetics and Sociality (LEGS) which is a productive lab with a supportive philosophy. Please organise a time to meet/chat with me to discuss your interests.
