Project description

Design Thinking is a commonly used method across the industry for solving problems and finding solutions in a creative and human-centric manner. This project aims at conceptualising a design thinking method for planning and managing local and global industrial value networks such as local production and logistics chains, or transnational supply chains. Relevant industrial sectors might be the manufacturing or hydrogen sector. Additionally, the application of Lego® bricks or 3D-printed components in combination with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Llama 2 should be investigated as potential digital and haptic artifacts that can improve the Design Thinking method with its phases: emphasis, define, ideate, prototype, and test.

Supervisors research focus

  • Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing systems
  • Design of value networks
  • Factory management

Note: You need to register interest in projects from different supervisors (not a number of projects with the one supervisor).
You must also contact each supervisor directly to discuss both the project details and your suitability to undertake the project.
